Bath Terrace was designed by Newcastle Architect John Dobson in 1848. At the front of the Terrace in 1861 Woods & Co. built a bank which was later rebuilt in 1895 and then taken over by Barclays Bank in 1902.

This photograph by John Foreman is reproduced here with the kind permission of his wife Agnes Foreman.
