Memorial Card for the 1880 Seaham Colliery Disaster

Courtesy of Susan Ord whose ancestor William Barrass perished in the explosion.

 

This card is quite unusual because it quotes "166 " unfortunate miners were killed

when in fact there were 164 men and boys killed.
