Licence granted for the Red Star Hotel (1931)

The Red Star Hotel was built by Nimmos Brewery at the bottom of Station Road. The licence was first granted on 6th March 1931 when the licence for the Adam & Eve Gardens public house (also known as the Dene House Inn) was surrendered and transferred to the new hotel. The Red Star Hotel was re-named the Island Club in the 1970's.
