New Seaham Branch of the British Legion hold dinner in the Seaton Colliery Inn (1941)

The Seaton Colliery Inn was destroyed by bombing shortly after this event. In an air raid on Tuesday 25th October 1941 the Inn received a direct hit and was completely demolished. The Landlord's wife and a friend were killed and 12 injured. In this raid 558 houses were damaged.  It was later rebuilt as The Phoenix.
