The Mill at New Seaham(1959)

The Mill was opposite the school of St Cuthberts. There were four "Mill Cottages" next to the Mill. The Mill was a landmark for nearly three centuries. After a devastating fire in 1856 it was rebuilt but eventually it ceased to be used for grinding corn and was used as a blacking factory. Later it was occupied as a dwelling house but abandoned in the 1930's and demolished in 1959.
