The Rose and Crown, Church Street (1961)

The Rose and Crown occupied 12/13 Church Street. In 1961 the two shops above the Rose and Crown occupied by Bill Hoare (butchers) and Frank Pacito (Ice Cream parlour) were demolished and Seaham's first supermarket (Fine Fare) was built. The Rose and Crown was the first pub where I  "legally" had my first pint of beer in 1968. (Fred Cooper)
