Finding WW1 War Diaries

If you are looking for information about your ancestor who died in WW1 go to this website. It contains a database which can be searched on Regiment, Cemetery and Date of Death.

I knew that my Uncle George William Cooper was in the Royal Field Artillery, died on 29th Sept 1917 and was buried at Caesars Nose Cemetery in Belgium.

From the Cemetery database I was able to find Uncle George's data including a link to the War Diaries for September 1917.

The link then took me to the Nartional Archives pages for those War Diaries and I was able to download information about what happened to his outfit including casualties for the month,

THis is an excellent resource for tracing information about WW1 casualties.
