Seaham Sound Mirror

World War sound mirror built about 1916 to detect Zeppeline airships. There was a sound gathering post in front of the structure fixed in concrete. It may have been used for shooting practice by the Home Guard during World War 2. It was located in a field known locally as the "Hollow" which ws accessed by the bull fields at the top of Deneside, behind the garage. There is nothing left at the site now.
