Location of Bessies Hole (1855)

Bessies Hole is often incorrectly described as the break in the cliffs at Dawdon Nook where Dawdon Dene runs into the sea and where the old Sea Baths were built. From this map of 1855 it can be seen that Bessies Hole is further north and is located adjacent to the old NCB "A" Group Offices - now the Beachcomber Care Home. (Fred Cooper)
